about cp

The most important in a nutshell

The core elements are two EPS shells connected by permanently elastic hi-tech gel pads. Forces generated during an event are distributed in all directions (omni directional). The impact on the skull is significantly reduced. Reduced risk of traumatic injury.

Construction and safety

As a visor helmet pioneer, CP offers a wide range that includes all three common types of ski helmet construction. Each type has different characteristics, about which they should learn before choosing. The three main designs are:

Hard shell helmets

The hard shell helmet is made of a thicker, durable ABS for the outer shell. This is bonded to a lightweight polystyrene liner. The result is a very safe helmet: impact resistant on the outside, shock absorbing and insulating from the inside. CP hardshell helmets are among the lightest on the market.

The Inmold helmet

The Inmold helmet has its origins in cycling. It consists of a relatively thin polycarbonate outer shell. Inside the shell is a polystyrene lining, which absorbs shock (in case of collision or fall) by collapsing. The polycarbonate outer shell and the foamed polystyrene are bonded together in a single operation using high pressure and heat. The result is a one-piece, very lightweight helmet that absolutely meets everyday demands and keeps the price down.

The hybrid helmet

The hybrid helmet combines the advantages of the hard shell and the inmold helmet: a hard shell made of ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene Copolymer) for maximum protection and an inmold component for high stability and low weight, without compromising comfort.

The ODSA system from CP

Experience has shown that CP helmets, due to their design and thanks to the use of excellent

materials, provide the best possible protection against head injuries. But even the best helmet cannot prevent traumatic injuries (craniocerebral trauma) one hundred percent if, in the event of an impact or fall, the obstacle does not hit the helmet axially, but next to the axis. The force that causes the brain to “spin” in the process increases the risk of traumatic brain injury. The central elements are two separate polystyrene helmet shells. These are connected to each other by three gel pads. Originally developed for medical applications, the gel material has properties that are ideally suited for use in the service of extended protection in the event of a fall or collision in ski helmets. The gel pads are permanently elastic in heat and cold. They have the shape memory of a solid – so they always find their way back to their original shape after an event. When the helmet shell is struck, the force can be absorbed and deflected in all directions. For added forehead and temple protection, a cushioning fiberglass-reinforced 360° polyurethane strap.

As the first CP All in One helmet, all variants of the CP CORAO+ and the CP CHIMAYO+ bike are equipped with the new ODSA system.

System for the perfect size adjustment

Despite the excellent fit of all CP All-in-one helmets, the perfect individual fit is not guaranteed in every case. Here the CP SIZE ADAPTING SYSTEM. With a rotating ring, fine adjustment can be made effortlessly and without having to take off the glove, with millimeter precision. be

Active ventilation

The Controllable Air System enables active control of cooling or ventilation. The climate inside the helmet can be regulated individually with a regulator that can be operated comfortably even with gloves.

Models: CP CORAO+, CP CORAO, CP CUMA, CP CAMURAI and CP CHIMAYO+ bike

Passive ventilation

This is a built-in system with limited adjustment possibilities. This is simple, but effective. A constant, direct air flow provides the head with a pleasant climate all day long.

The (replaceable and washable) interior

The comfortable textile padding of every CP helmet (exception: CP CARACHILLO / CP CARACHILLO XS) is removable and can be washed, which is recommended from a hygienic point of view after an extended skiing session. hygienic point of view.

CP ear cushions

With the CP With the ear pads you are protected from snow and wind, but you can still hear the sounds from the environment. This is a very important safety feature that should not be neglected. Especially nowadays, when skiing is becoming more and more popular and more and more people are on the slopes and on the streets.
